the planking continues

41 days

This was a short week interrupted by the bank holiday and Barnaby being off up country somewhere.

The planking at this stage is quite slow as apart from cutting and fitting the plank, the rabbet also needs finishing so that the plank fits snugly and at the right angle. Once the fore end of the planks are off the keel and on the stem, and the aft ends are shooting over the transom things should speed up a bit.

Have made a start on the lead collection at last. We'll need around 7 tons of lead for the ballast keel and if we can get scrap it'll obviously be a lot cheaper than buying new. Thanks to Gary and Mac for the first two contributions.
